Print Design: Developing a corporate identity that reflects the heart of your business

The first impression that a company provides when attracting new clients and customers is of vital importance. Stationary plays an important role in this exchange. Be it through business cards, letterheads, brochures or flyers a memorable impression has to made that not only stands out but communicates the vibrant spirit of your business.
Brand creation
Print differs in several ways from website design. Colours can appear muted on paper in comparison to the screen. There is far more flexibility in the variety of type faces that can be used. The size of the final image is under the designers control, unlike web pages which depend on monitor resolution. All this and more is considered when designing for print, however it is also important that a congruence of styles is kept between print and web.
I am happy to work with existing brands, and enjoy the challenge of working to a brief. I can also create a brand from scratch that can be applied across all elements of your corporate identity.
Examples
The following examples are taken from the Spirit of Life 2004 brochure, the majority of the photographs and copy are also my work. The printed brochure measured 14 x 30cm.

- Service Contracts
I like to create the feeling that I am almost working in the office with you, in order to facilitate this I have developed a service contract option in which my time can be broken up into segments as small as ten minutes, allowing me to undertake small tasks without the need to pay for a full hours work. I offer these contracts at a lower rate than my regular hourly rate. These contracts are purchased in advance blocks of eight hours or more. I charge £240 for eight hours which works out at £30 per hour. I invoice you for the next eight hours when the time is running out. A full breakdown of how the time is spent is always accessible through the client login section of this website, see the demo for an example.
- Hourly Rate
£35 for the first hour, £30 for each subsequent hour. Time rounded up to the nearest hour.
- Additional Expenses
All additional costs such as specialist software and stock photography are charged at cost. Travel is charged at 50p per mile from Hebden Bridge + the time spent traveling. Overnight stays are charged at £200.
I pass print costs on to you at cost and simply charge for the time spent liasing with the printers. I always shop around and select services that offer good value for money and also provide a reliable service.
- Quotes
I can also work to a fixed price quote. First time users of my services may be particularly attracted to this option, although this tends to be slightly more expensive due to additional overheads and risks on my part.
